Joanne Modica Interiors featured On the Redfin Blog
I recently had the opportunity to be interviewed by the folks over at Redfin Real Estate for their Blog. We spoke about the process of creating a designated quiet space in your home, one to relax and get away from the daily grind and stress. It was a fantastic opportunity, and I’m honored to be featured with other respected professionals in my field!
Redfin underscored the fact that your home should be a retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but that’s not always the case. Whether you have roommates, children or a spouse finding a space at home to relax and gather your thoughts can be pretty tricky. So they reached out to the experts from Vancouver to Tallahassee – including me to provide readers with a few tips and tricks to creating a designated quiet space at home.
They asked, and here’s what I said!
“To create a personal calming spot in your home, the first step is finding your inspiration – that special something that makes you feel connected and creative. Maybe it’s a favorite piece of art bursting with color, your grandmother’s beloved teacup, a map of Paris or the cozy blanket you bought in Ireland on a chilly September day. Start with something meaningful, add a calming wall color, layer some textured pillows, maybe bring in a piece of new furniture and choose lighting that creates a warm ambiance. Always surround yourself with things you love.”
